To gain some clearance, I used fender washers ( they're very thin ) under the AMP brackets. I rotated the driver's side motors clockwise causing the top of the motors to press up against the body of the truck. So, I threw the instructions away and came up with my own solution. AMP Research has not responded to any message that I have sent thus far. I also sent the seller and AMP research emails concerning this issue and neither have offered any assistance at all. That boys and girls, provides NO help whatsoever. not get useless comments about how others have not experienced this issue. That's when I came on here to seek help from others. Subsequently, I made a second attempt by attaching the motor first, then mounting the bracket to the truck, but I couldn't get the bracket to seat against the truck for the same exact reason. When I attempted to mount the motor as shown in step 5, I was unable unable to attach it to the rear driver's side linkage as the motor came in contact with the fuel tank's factory skid plate mounting bracket and prevented the motor from seating properly. If you refer to step 5 on page 6 of the instructions, you will see an image depicting the driver's side motor orientation. That being said, this is my first time installing the AMP PowerStep Xtreme steps ( two-motor version - 78240-01A ). If you cannot help me resolve my issue, then don't bother responding. I only care about resolving the issue that I am experiencing. I do NOT care what other people have experienced. I am a firm believer in following the instructions to the letter and I do NOT appreciate hearing from people that they have sold/installed these steps to other people without having any installation issues. So this is NOT my first time installing the AMP PowerSteps. once on my 20 Power Wagon and again on my 20. I have installed the single-motor version of the AMP PowerSteps twice before. Do all the functions work as they should on your TAZER with the SGW installed.Let me begin with this. I asked them to ship the SGW and i would return the cable once I had them swapped. I use the light shows daily for work and hate to send my cable and loose functionality for the shipping times plus I will have to make time for installation which does not look super simple. So I agreed to return the bypass that they sent me and they would mail the SGW out. They realized I have a 2019 and that the Security Gateway Bypass, SGW, was needed behind the guage cluster. mostly them telling me I had it hooked into the wrong port or I needed to reboot. Also the Global Window up/down Function does not work. Working features that I wanted were Light Shows, Auto Mirror Fold but Navigation in Motion and Camera delay options are not available. I was able to hook up and use a couple of features but was missing access to several that I ponied up for. After they sent that out which took a week to arrive. They orginally sent me just the Tazer with no bypass cable even though it was listed on the shipping label. I love the features that you get access to, however, in my case several did not work. I have been less than thrilled with their customer service since then. I ordered the Tazer Ram about a month ago. Location of the Security Gateway Module (Behind the front instrument cluster - Highlighted in orange): Thank you to Russ and Mike for their help in disassembling the 2019 and making sure we put all the bolts back as well as Tracy from Mike’s dealership who sent us the exact location. Lots of features that can be found on their website.Ģ018+ trucks now have a Security Gateway Module that helps to protect the trucks computer from being hacked and in order to make any setting changes you either have to have the security codes and $40,000 computer from FCA or you have to bypass the module with a little bypass module. Since the truck is so new the dealers had no clue how to set the tire pressure size and encouraged me to find a tuner of some sort.Īfter much research I decided on the Tazer Ram. When I bought my 2019 Ram Power Wagon one of the first things I did was upgrade the tire (separate thread for that) to Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.50R17. Well it wasn’t quite that far back but you had to know where to look. There is nothing quite like taking apart the whole dash on a brand new truck to find a module that is so far stuck into the truck that you have to take the dash apart.
